"Harry Kalaba Unveils Startling Account: Alleges Orchestrated Deception and Political Motives Behind Controversial Encounter"
In an unexpected turn of events, Harry Kalaba, leader of the Citizens First party, has unveiled a new narrative surrounding the day he found himself embroiled in claims of seeking a gold-plated 'iPhone 15'. Kalaba now asserts that on that pivotal day, he had been led to believe that he was meeting with a pastor, not entering into the circumstances he eventually encountered.
In a bold move, the opposition leader has gone on record stating that the encounter involving Zimbabwean Journalist Simba Chikanza was not a mere coincidence. Instead, he alleges that the entire affair was a strategically orchestrated move by state actors aiming to besmirch his reputation. Kalaba has pointed fingers at President Hakainde Hichilema, accusing him of harboring a profound fear of Kalaba's political prowess as evidenced by his strong third-place finish in the fiercely contested 2021 General Elections.
Recently, Kalaba found himself in the spotlight when he was captured on social media in a Lusaka phone shop alongside Zimbabwean Journalist Mr. Chikanza. The mood initially appeared light-hearted, until Chikanza turned the tables by accusing Kalaba of being involved in a gold mafia scandal, alongside Ubert Angel. The accusations grew to encompass a USD$240 million gold scandal, alleging that Kalaba manipulated Zambian influence to tamper with investigations linked to the Zimbabwean gold controversy, resulting in hardships for many Zimbabweans.
However, at a media briefing, Kalaba refuted these claims and called for the government to provide an explanation regarding the situation. He recounted a conversation with Government Chief Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda, where she purportedly told him that he owed the Zambian public an explanation for his association with a Zimbabwean journalist. Kalaba maintained that the orchestrated operation had deceived him into thinking he was meeting a pastor, and he vehemently denied any involvement in the gold-related matters.
Kalaba's frustration was evident as he exclaimed, "When they say Kalaba is involved in gold, is this how a thief looks? You must follow the track record of your leader called Harry Kalaba. From the time that I came out number three, I have been attacked left, right and centre." He then directly accused President Hichilema of being the one who hired Zimbabwean Journalist Mr. Chikanza, citing a video where Hichilema thanked Chikanza.
Expressing his defiance, Kalaba questioned the motive behind President Hichilema's actions, musing, "Here is someone fighting so hard. What is he scared of? Why is he jealous of a youngster?" In this complex web of accusations and counteraccusations, Kalaba's assertions have added a new layer of intrigue to the ongoing narrative.
